Istanbul
I helped with the logistics of a conference in Istanbul for church planting leaders. That way the leaders attending could focus on learning strategies - what has and hasn’t worked - from each others and brainstorm how they can apply it in their own contexts.
A HUGE bonus to this trip was seeing seeing some friends who are like family and getting to spend time with my adopted niece!
Egypt
I also had the privilege helping in the area of logistics and translation for a medical campaign in Cairo and Alexandria (Egypt). It was a beautiful time witnessing two cultures are so important to me, come together and partner for the Kingdom.
So much of the work was among Sudanese refugees and the local church, strengthening and encouraging them. We can’t reach everyone, but those who stay can reach out to their muslims brothers and sisters, even among persecution.
Dubai
Keeping in line with logistics (it’s kind of what I do!), I was part of conversations about a conference that’s coming (with quite delicate details). Now while I was there I had the opportunity I had a great conversation with the creative director in the local international church which was really encouraging! We realised that we are going through very similar challenges as creative directors in our respective churches and we were able to exchange experiences, advice, and generally encourage each other. I learned a lot from that conversation, we asked each other so many questions and learnt so much! It was such a highlight from that trip!
These have been such highlights of this year, based in Barcelona and doing so much work here, but reconnecting with a culture and part of the world that also needs Jesus so desperately and where the Gospel reach is so low. It’s such a wonderful combination and it gives me so much life!
See you tomorrow for the last day!
